Common questions
Everything you need to know about presale blanket fundraisers, sponsored campaigns, and how Spectator Sport runs the program.
Typical campaigns raise $15,000–$35,000. The biggest campaigns we've run have raised over $50,000 in 4 weeks. The actual number depends on school enrollment, community engagement, blanket retail price (usually $65–$75), and how strongly your booster leader promotes the campaign. We give every school a custom raise estimate before they commit.
No. Our presale fundraiser program has zero upfront cost. Your community places orders through your custom campaign page. Production only starts after the campaign closes. You only pay for blankets that have already been purchased by your community. Your school never holds inventory and never fronts a dollar.
In a sponsored campaign, Spectator Sport covers all design costs, production deposits, and shipping. Your school takes zero financial risk and instead receives donations based on how well the campaign performs. Sponsored campaigns are typically the right starting point for schools brand-new to blanket fundraisers — they prove the market, build community awareness, and lead to a much stronger presale campaign the following season.
Design approval to profit check usually runs 6–10 weeks. Custom mockups arrive within 48 hours of your initial inquiry. The campaign itself runs 2–4 weeks. Production takes 2–6 weeks depending on the blanket style (Nubay Rapid Print is fastest at 2–4 weeks; D-Luxe NubaySoft is 4–6 weeks). Delivery and your profit check follow.
Your school does the promotion to your own community — that's what makes presale campaigns work. We give you a full booster leader toolkit: social media flyers, sample email and text scripts, game-day announcement scripts, and best practices from 7,000+ campaigns. You bring the school's voice and audience; we bring the production system and the data on what works.
NubaySoft is the proprietary ultra-soft plush fabric Spectator Sport developed and manufactures exclusively. The most popular tier (D-Luxe NubaySoft, 600 GSM) is heavy, soft, and photo-realistic when printed. It's what makes the blanket a keepsake your community actually wants to keep, not just a fundraiser product they buy once and forget. Available only through Spectator Sport's network of sites.
No. FundraiserBlanket.com (singular) is the official Spectator Sport fundraising program — we invented presale blanket fundraising at Mountain Ridge HS in 2019. Fundraiser Blankets (plural, at fundraiserblankets.com) is a separate competitor that appeared on Shark Tank in Season 17. They're a different company with a different product. Schools that have run both typically come back to Spectator Sport for the NubaySoft material quality and the established multi-year operational system refined since 2019.
In our experience, the most successful campaigns are led by someone who's already organizing community communication for the school — a booster club president, a cheer mom, a band parent leader, an active PTO member, or an engaged athletic director. The common trait is they already have access to parent text chains, school Facebook groups, and game-day announcements. The blanket is the product; the champion is what drives the raise.
Small schools (under 500 enrollment) often do extremely well because their communities are tight-knit. We've seen K-12 rural schools raise $8,000–$15,000 — proportionally higher per student than large high schools. The presale model scales down well because there's no minimum order — you only produce what your community buys. If you're a small school, a sponsored campaign first is usually the right entry point.
Absolutely. Team-specific campaigns are extremely common — football boosters, cheer squad, marching band, theater program, senior class, etc. The blanket design can feature the specific team's roster, season, championship year, or coach. Profit goes to that specific program. We frequently run multiple campaigns per school per year for different programs.
Yes. We've shipped to schools in all 50 states. For presale campaigns we drop-ship directly to each individual buyer, so the school never handles inventory and you can sell to alumni and family members anywhere in the country, not just locally.
You only pay for blankets that were actually ordered. There is no minimum, no penalty, and no leftover inventory. If 30 blankets sell, 30 get produced and shipped. If 300 sell, 300 get produced. We've never had a school lose money on a presale campaign — the worst outcome is a smaller-than-hoped raise.
Every Spectator Sport order — presale, sponsored, or wholesale — includes the full go-to-market kit. We build your custom campaign landing page (branded with your school's mascot, colors, and approved design), pre-made social media flyers and share graphics sized for Facebook / Instagram / parent group chats, ready-to-send email and text blast scripts refined from 7,000+ campaigns, a real-time order tracking dashboard, and a dedicated rep through profit-check delivery. Blankets are drop-shipped directly to each individual buyer so your school never opens a box or handles inventory. Even if you order only 50 wholesale blankets, you still get the campaign site and the social kit. We'd rather make your sale easy than just take an order — that's the difference.
